A school with a difference
Our educational approach embraces the fact that every child comes to ACS Doha with his or her own hopes and aspirations. To meet these needs we believe it is important to encourage the pursuit of academic endeavour within a caring environment that promotes each student’s ability and learning style.
As a fully authorised and successful IB World School we offer the renowned IB Primary Years Programme (IBPYP), the IB Middle Year Programme (IBMYP) and the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP). In Grades 11 and 12 students can also choose from a selection of Advanced Placement courses and will also study towards the rigorous American High School Diploma. Our academic programmes ensure that our students will become successful global citizens – ready for the next stage in their lives.
A vibrant, welcoming community and a true international school
At the very heart of ACS Doha is our warm, inclusive, welcoming community. It’s something our parents tell us they really value about our co-educational day school.
Home to over 900 students, aged 3 to 18, representing 70 nationalities, we have 150 expert faculty and staff. It’s this global outlook that informs our world-renowned curriculum, building on the very best of global and US education standards. It gives your child unprecedented flexibility to tailor their studies from a wide range of options and access to world-leading universities.
We’re excited to be opening a new state-of-the-art campus in August 2020, which will more than double our student capacity to 2,470. It’s part of our dedication to create a legacy in Qatar.
In defining our Vision we have distilled the many ideas, feelings and voices that make up our international community. ‘Through learning’ captures our endeavour to encourage lifelong learning in everything we do, and remain curious and motivated by the world we live in.
To ‘inspire all to make a difference’ expresses our collective desire to see and enable achievement as a personal goal. It embodies our drive to enrich and contribute positively to the people around us, both near and far.
Nationalities at ACS Doha
ACS Doha, like its sister schools in the UK, is home to students from all over the world. With over 70 different nationalities represented, learning to be a global citizen and absorb cultural differences ia an integral part of everyday life. The global connectivity that our students acquire through being at the school and making lifelong frends is something that our students really value. Many of our students feel there is no better preparation for life than that provided by our unqiue international education and the environment in which they learn.
STATEMENT ON EQUALITY AND JUSTICE
"Anti-racism is the commitment to fight racism wherever you find it, including in yourself. And that's the only way forward." - Ijeoma Oluo
We are proud of our culturally-diverse community of students, families, staff and alumni representing over 70 nationalities, and recognise that we have an important role to play in being a positive catalyst for change. As an organisation of four schools, we have taken the time to reflect. We continue to learn and acknowledge that we can do better and will work harder as a community to address inequality and injustice. We listen to members of our community and this has helped us form action plans around a number of themes. Please click here for the full statement from our Chair and CEO.
