Promoting a culture of excellence in safeguarding
ACS recognises that all adults, staff, volunteers and directors, have a full and active part to play in protecting our students from harm, and that the child’s welfare is our paramount concern.
ACS is committed to providing a caring, safe and stimulating environment that promotes the social, physical and moral development of the individual child and to always act in the best interests of the child.
We aim to support each child’s development in ways that will foster security, confidence and independence and to provide an environment in which children and young people feel safe, secure, valued and respected. Our students must feel confident and know how to approach adults if they are in difficulties, believing they will be effectively listened to.
We aim to support each child’s development to foster security, confidence and independence.
a community where students feel secure
We provide regular training to raise the awareness of all teaching and non-teaching staff of the need to safeguard children and of their responsibilities in identifying any potential issues and provide a systematic means of monitoring children thought to be in need or at risk of harm.
Good levels of communication between all members of staff and other agencies within our communities are maintained and a structured procedure is understood by all.
All staff working within ACS who have access to children and who undertake regulated activity are thoroughly checked for suitability with thorough record checks and reference research.
ACS recognises that safeguarding and child protection are every community member’s responsibility and we take this matter very seriously in all our schools.
At ACS, safeguarding and child protection are every community member’s responsibility.
